Description

This study aimed to determine the maximum flood height experienced in Sitio Paradise, Barangay Tabok, a flood-prone area located near the Butuanon River in Mandaue City. The primary objective was to gather both quantitative and qualitative data to better understand the severity of flood events and inform future risk reduction measures.

Measurements and resident accounts indicated that the maximum flood height reached up to 3.8 meters during severe rainfall events. This level of flooding is sufficient to submerge nearby roads and enter low-lying homes, highlighting the urgent need for effective flood mitigation strategies in the area.
