Description
The park near the Biotura residential estate in Gdańsk is an example of a modern, sustainable green space designed with both resident comfort and environmental protection in mind. It was developed as an integral part of the housing estate and combines retention, recreational, and educational functions.
At the heart of the park is a retention pond, which plays a role in the stormwater management system. Surrounding the pond are leisure decks, walking paths, and zones for physical activity and relaxation, including an outdoor gym, jogging trail, playground with a zipline, and a dog park.
The park is a prime example of a nature-based solution (NBS), integrating natural elements with urban infrastructure to support water retention, biodiversity, and residents’ quality of life.
