Description
At the corner of Lehenstraße 13 and Liststraße 44 in Stuttgart Süd, a parklet was first installed on 24 June 2016 as part of the “Parklets für Stuttgart” initiative. The original installation was developed by Basil S. Helfenstein, Philipp Wölki, and Kristin Lazarova, with “Das Lehen” acting as local sponsor and user of the space. Although the initial structure was temporary, parklet use has remained at this location up to 2026, adapted in size and layout to the needs of the adjacent restaurant.
The current setup includes seating elements such as tables, benches and chairs, combined with planted grasses in pots that form a soft boundary between the street and the use area. The intervention occupies former parking space and introduces small-scale public seating into a dense mixed-use urban street.
