Description
A pocket park is a small-scale public green space integrated into dense urban areas to enhance liveability, introduce vegetation, and activate underused land.
The Ranim Garden Pocket Park was designed by the Danish landscape firm 'Stig L. Andersson' (SLA) to convert six empty city blocks into sustainable and biodiverse parks. Located in the Khalifa City suburb in Abu Dhabi, UEA, the garden is one of the six parks of the type, which contain more than 6,700 trees and bushes with 40 native plant species that are suitable for the arid climate conditions.
The park functions as an active community space while enhancing ecological performance and mitigating heat stress.
