Description
A pocket park is a small-scale public green space integrated into dense urban areas to improve environmental quality and urban liveability.
Udaan Park is an example of such a pocket park that was developed in response to rapid urbanisation in Udaipur. Located along the banks of the historic Swaroop Sagar Lake in Udaipur, the park restores and enhances the lakefront landscape and provides accessible public open space at the same time.
The park supports urban biodiversity by providing a habitat attractive to a large number of migratory birds, while also functioning as a recreational green refuge for visitors. Following the natural topography of the site, Udaan Park replaced the previous irregular layout with a more structured spatial environment.
